Cosmos

Cosmos includes a highly productive RAD (Rapid Application Development) environment for generating screen layouts, menus and reports; a fourth-generation object-oriented language; and a relational database manager with SQL interface, all accompanied by a powerful set of auxiliary tools.

This set of tools, specialised in the creation of business applications in a fast, simple and efficient way, is characterised by its high productivity from the first days of use.

Among these, we highlight the following elements:

• Cosmos Repository Manager: allows you to manage the data structure. Creation of tables, relations between them, indexes, etc., in a visual way and for the different databases that the applications will use. By means of this repository it is possible to automatically generate all the maintenance of the application, both simple and MasterDetail.
• Cosmos Visual Editor: this IDE is the nerve centre of Cosmos. It includes a powerful object-oriented 4GL with very high productivity thanks to the various wizards for generating screens, reports and prototyping applications.

It also includes a graphic WYSIWYG screen editor together with a series of specific graphic components for working with the business logic, with which the whole “look and feel” of our application can be designed in a comfortable way.

Thus, with a simple Drag & Drop we will directly obtain a complete maintenance with all its basic business logic.

The advanced COOL development language, which includes a huge amount of pre-written code, allows us to manage all the events that occur in our applications.

• Cosmos Configuration Editor: allows you to define the different database connections. This element makes the client layer independent from the final installation. In this way, the same client application can work on different architectures without the need to modify a single line of source code.

Connectivity in Cosmos is another remarkable aspect. It includes a modern SQL database manager that can be installed on different architectures (Windows, Linux, Unix), as well as a connection module via ODBC and JDBC.
